A warming day of yoga, outdoor bathing and deep rest at PAUS, near Cambridge
Late winter can feel like a bit of an in-between time. The darker months are beginning to ease, but we may still feel the need for warmth, rest and a little more time before rushing into spring.
Join me at PAUS on Saturday 13 March 2027 for a full day of yoga, nourishing food, outdoor bathing and deep relaxation.
We’ll begin with a warming 90-minute yoga practice, enjoy lunch together at the Hilltop Bistro and then spend the afternoon outdoors. Feel the cool March air on your face as you sink into the warmth of a wood-fired hot tub, spend time in the sauna or, if you fancy it, take a dip in one of the cold tubs.
We’ll finish the day indoors with a deeply relaxing sound bath led by Gabi from Journey Through Healing.
The retreat is suitable for all levels. You don’t need to be experienced at yoga, and you’re very welcome to come on your own.

Your Retreat Experience
This day is designed to give you a proper pause towards the end of winter, with a balance of warming movement, fresh air and plenty of time to rest.
- Arrival: Settle in with a welcome tea or coffee and meet the rest of the group.
- Morning yoga: We’ll begin with a 90-minute yoga practice, starting slowly before building into a warming, feel-good flow. We’ll then soften into longer-held stretches and finish with time to rest. You’ll be given different options throughout, so you can choose what feels right for your body.
- Lunch at Hilltop Bistro: After yoga, we’ll enjoy lunch together at the Hilltop Bistro, including a sharing platter, main course and homemade cake. There will be time to chat, settle in and enjoy being looked after.
- Barefoot Sensory Trail: After lunch, we’ll head outside for a barefoot sensory meadow trail. Walking across the different natural surfaces gives you a chance to notice the ground beneath your feet, take in the fresh air and experience the landscape in a completely different way.
- Hilltop Bathing: Sink into a wood-fired hot tub, relax in the sauna or, if you fancy it, try one of the cold tubs. You can move between the spaces as much or as little as you like. There will also be time to sit back, enjoy a drink or simply take in the views.
- Closing sound bath: We’ll finish with a deeply relaxing sound bath led by Gabi from Journey Through Healing, bringing the day to a quiet and restful close.
Refreshments during the bathing session include prosecco, G&T, or elderflower pressé. Additional drinks can be purchased from the Hilltop Bistro.

“Gemma has a fabulous vibe and the class just felt right! I’ve been to a couple of deep stretch monthly classes and I’ve signed up for the weekly one starting in September. I’ve booked my 2nd day retreat with Gemma and I can’t wait. I’m not the most flexible but I never feel out of place because Gemma teaches in a way that makes you feel like you belong.”

“Just wanted to say a very big thank you for a very pleasant, extremely relaxing day yesterday. It all worked so well and I loved every minute. You made me feel so welcome, included and cared for. The atmosphere you engendered was absolutely fantastic. The yoga was excellent, as were the snacks, the lunch, the walk and the bathing. Wow to the sound bathing too so thanks to Gabi too. A truly remarkable day. I slept very well last night!”
