There’s a common belief that you need to feel a certain way before coming to a yoga class.

Calm. Peaceful. Focused. Like you’ve somehow got your life together and you’re gliding through the week with herbal tea and a serene smile.

But the truth?
Most of us arrive on the mat feeling a bit frazzled. A bit stiff. A bit distracted. Sometimes a lot.

Yoga isn’t something you do once you feel better.
It’s something you do to feel better.

The breath, the movement, the stillness—it all meets you exactly where you are. You don’t have to tidy yourself up emotionally or physically to be ‘ready’. In fact, the messier your mind feels, the more likely yoga will help.

You don’t need to bring anything special.
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to have a good day.

You just need to show up.

And from there—something shifts.
Maybe not dramatically, maybe not every time, but often enough that it keeps calling you back.

So if your mind has been racing, if your body feels heavy, if everything’s just a bit much—come to class.

Not because you’re already calm.
But because you’re ready to practise it.
