Today in Feel Good Friday Yoga in Rugby, we looked at the Beginner’s Mind. Whether you are brand-new and stepping onto your mat for the first time, or years into your yoga practice, we practise yoga with a “beginner’s mind.”
Today in Feel Good Friday Yoga in Rugby, we looked at the Beginner’s Mind. Whether you are brand-new and stepping onto your mat for the first time, or years into your yoga practice, we practise yoga with a “beginner’s mind.”
Today in Feel Good Friday Yoga, we explored intention-setting. An intention or “sankalpa” is bringing your awareness to a quality that you wish to develop.
Think of intention as a guiding principle for how you want to show up in the world. What you think, you become. Thoughts become things. Intention creates our reality.
A new year ahead brings an invitation for new beginnings and a time for fresh thinking. It takes strength and trust to begin again.
In our new Feel Good Friday Yoga Flow starting next week, you will be invited to be brave, to let old stories melt away and find transformation in your body and mind. We will be working into poses that strengthen and create flexibility in your back body, in the front of the hips, legs and abdomen and open your chest and shoulders. When you have this expansiveness and openness, you’re ready to take on the year ahead.
Thinking of starting yoga in the New Year and not sure what to expect? Yoga classes vary tremendously. Anusara, Iyengar, Jivamukti, Kundalini, Restorative, Yin and Vinyasa are all types of yoga styles. There are so many different types of yoga out there, whether you are looking for a physically demanding class or a relaxing, meditative class.
It can be an anxious and overwhelming time of year so today in our last yoga class of the year, we practised a chilled-out slow flow which included Christmas tree, star pose, angel pose, lots of forward folds and an extra long relaxation.
Today in Yoga live-streamed from Rugby, we completed our water element series.
The water element can help us find our sense of freedom and liberation in how we move our bodies and move in our lives.
Fluidity is one of, if not the most important lessons the element of water offers us.
Today in ‘Feel Good Friday Yoga’ in Rugby, we continued our journey exploring the water element. As we have seen over the past few weeks, the sacral chakra is home of our water element and reflects, our emotions, the ups and downs of life, the circle of life, our passion and being open to joy.
There’s a statement from the Greek philosopher Heraclitus that says, “You cannot step into the same river twice.” Because water is continually flowing in the river, so it only makes sense that you cannot step into the same river twice. The underlying message here is that change is constant.
Ok, so here it is, my top 5 gift ideas for anyone who loves yoga-related bits and bobs:
I absolutely love the drawings by “Cally Jane Studio.” She has a little shop on Etsy with beautiful postcards, tote bags and best of all, a 2021 calendar. Love this.
Today in our live-streamed yoga from Rugby, we looked at the Sacral Chakra symbol. It is an orange lotus with six petals. The six petals represent undesirable emotional qualities that at some point, we might need to overcome and are associated with this sacral chakra: anger, jealousy, cruelty, hatred, pride and too much desire.
